Kathy Watt (OAM) is an elite cyclist, among many other achievements, she won gold for the road race at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 as well as a silver medal on the track.
Since retiring from cycling, Kathy has been able to establish a new career in award winning photography. Her subjects are diverse but her background leads her to specialise in sports photography. Her work takes her around the world to major sporting events, the Olympics and the Tour De France where she has had unique access to the many and varied elite athletes.
Dream, Believe, Achieve – Sport and Beyond at WAS Gallery is all about the sport but also reflects an individual’s determination to establish a new and completely different career. It’s a pleasure to bring Kathy’s work to Warragul, her home town, and celebrate a local who has achieved great things and maintained a strong connection to the region.
